7-year-old reportedly injured on Halloween night in Berkeley hit-and-run

A 7-year-old boy had a broken leg on Tuesday night after a driver hit the child and fled the scene, according to multiple media outlets.

The child was struck by the hit-and-run driver while trick-or-treating with his mother and crossing the street on the 1200 block of Derby Street at 6:24 p.m., KRON-TV reported.

Candy was all over the roadway where the boy was hit by the driver, KTVU-TV reported. The TV station said the driver did not stay at the scene.

SFGATE was unable to reach the Berkeley Police Department on Wednesday morning.
