Man arrested for deadly hit-and-run crash in Fresno County, CHP says

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — A Kerman man has been arrested in connection to a deadly hit-and-run crash in Fresno County.

Authorities have taken 32-year-old Santiago Ambriz-Cervantez into custody for the crash that happened on Bishop near Shields Avenues just outside the city of Kerman.

Highway Patrol Officers say Ambriz-Cervantez hit the pedestrian when going north on Bishop. The man was declared dead at the scene.

A witness told officers that when they stopped to check on Ambriz-Cervantez, he left the area.

The witness followed Ambriz-Cervantez to Floyd Avenue, where he was later arrested.

He was booked into the Fresno County Jail for felony hit-and-run.
