About Armen
Armen G. Derian is the Managing Pre-Litigation Attorney at Drake the Lawyer, where he leads the strategic development and management of the firm’s personal injury cases from intake through the commencement of litigation. He oversees liability analysis, case strategy, medical and damages development, settlement negotiations, and the supervision of the firm’s pre-litigation team, working closely with clients, medical providers, and insurance carriers to maximize case value while pursuing timely and favorable resolutions.
Mr. Derian brings more than two decades of legal and claims experience to his practice, offering clients a unique perspective shaped by leadership roles on both the plaintiff and defense sides of the legal profession, as well as within the insurance industry. Before joining Drake the Lawyer, he served as Managing Attorney for the pre-litigation departments of two prominent California personal injury firms. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions with one of the nations largest insurance companies as well as California’s largest health care provider, where he managed complex, high-exposure claims and litigation involving personal injury, premises liability, professional liability, and commercial claims. He also spent more than a decade as a civil defense attorney representing healthcare professionals, hospitals, businesses, and insurers in complex litigation.
This diverse background provides Mr. Derian with valuable insight into how insurance companies evaluate risk, assess liability, and determine settlement value—knowledge he leverages to advocate effectively for injured clients throughout the pre-litigation process.
Mr. Derian earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law while working full time and received his Bachelor of Arts from Temple University. He is also a published author, having contributed to Physician and Hospital Liability in Drug and Medical-Device Litigation.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Derian enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and two dogs. He also serves on the Board of Directors of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church of Pasadena, where he remains actively involved in serving the local community.
